Every mythology has its own story of the beginning, but there is something strangely comforting about the story of Aphrodite’s.

 

Not because it is peaceful, but because it is not. Her story begins with the betrayal of a father and son, violence and chaos. Yet from the turbulent sea in the aftermath, Aphrodite emerged fully formed and became the greek goddess of love and beauty.

 

We spend our lives believing beautiful things must come from beautiful circumstances. More often, the opposite is true. Beauty emerges from failure, discomfort and tragedy.
